GREENSMITH PARTS WAYS WITH M-SPORT FORD

An announcement from the British squad confirmed it could not reach an agreement with Greensmith to enable him to continue behind the wheel of one of its Puma cars, meaning both parties will go their separate ways in 2023.

The Brit, now 25, began his rallying career at the wheel of a Ford Fiesta R1 before switching to the R2T model for back-to-back Drive DMACK Cup campaigns. An upgrade to one of M-Sport’s R5-specification Fiestas soon followed, with Greensmith joining the squad’s WRC2 team at the beginning of the 2019 season.

During that year he also debuted a Fiesta World Rally Car at Vodafone Rally de Portugal, making his second world rallying appearance soon afterwards in Finland as an injury replacement for Elfyn Evans.

Greensmith completed a part campaign with the same car in 2020 and, in 2021, and contested all 12 rallies - achieving a career best result of fourth overall at Safari Rally Kenya. He finished 10th in this year’s championship and also celebrated his maiden stage win at the season-opening Rallye Monte-Carlo.

It is unknown where to he'll be going next season.
